96% of people in the world either participate in sports or are avid sports fans. Besides people who eat and sleep, you can’t find a more comprehensive demographic!

Consequently, we have an exciting and culturally relevant opportunity to get out into our communities, work up a sweat, build relationships and share the Gospel through both what we say and what we do.

In 1 Corinthians 9:22 Paul understands the wisdom of adapting to those around us in order to point them towards Jesus, “I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.” Relationships are key – not everyone can preach, not everyone is a natural leader, but most people can get alongside someone, get to know them and sensitively take opportunities to share the truths of the Bible.

There are also approximately 52,000 churches in the U.K with a community of around 4 million people. In contrast there are approximately 151,000 sports clubs with a community of around 25 million. Imagine what we could do if we joined the dots…
